A Developmental Co-Ed Precursory Program To Instill The Love of the Game
The San Juan Futures Program is the official starting point of our elite competitive pathway. It is where promising young athletes begin their journey into the San Juan player lifecycle.
More than an introduction to soccer, Futures is a purpose-driven program rooted in long-term development. It blends foundational technical training with an emphasis on character, education, and holistic growth. Here, players aren’t just learning the game. They are stepping into a culture built on excellence.
Designed to instill the core values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience, the Futures Program sets the tone for what it means to be a San Juan player. It’s not just about the next drill or the next game. It’s about preparing for the next level, on and off the field. For those ready to rise, this is where it begins.
With a dedicated focus on teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and the values of sportsmanship, respect, and responsibility, the San Juan Futures Program is more than just a soccer program; it’s a pathway to a brighter and well-rounded future for its participants.
Education stands as a foundational pillar within the San Juan Futures Program, anchoring the belief that soccer transcends the realm of sports to impart vital life skills. The program takes a proactive approach in demonstrating that the lessons learned on the soccer field seamlessly translate into the classroom, serving as a catalyst for academic success.
At the heart of this educational philosophy is the recognition that teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, developed on the pitch, are fundamental attributes that empower young participants to navigate the rigors of their educational journey. Through the collaborative nature of soccer, children learn the art of effective communication, cooperation, and trust in their teammates. These are essential qualities that extend far beyond the field, shaping them into adept problem solvers and confident learners.
This foundation is not only beneficial, it is imperative. Before players enter NorCal Premier, ECNL, or ECNL Regional League programming, they must first understand what it means to be a complete athlete and a complete person. The Futures Program instills the habits, mindset, and life perspective required to thrive at the next level and sets the stage for long-term success both in soccer and in life.
WHAT AGES IS THE PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR?
The Futures Program is designed for girls and boys players ages 5 through 7, born in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
WHEN AND WHERE DOES THE PROGRAM TRAIN?
Futures program sessions are held at our Club-owned and operated facility, San Juan Soccer Complex. San Juan Soccer Complex is located at 3151 Kilgore Road, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670. Program sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, with consistent scheduling to support routine and player development.
WHY SHOULD MY CHILD START SOCCER?
Because it’s more than soccer. It’s where confidence starts, friendships grow, and kids discover what they’re capable of. Futures is the first step into San Juan’s competitive pathway, but it’s also where they learn how to work hard, listen, lead, and love the game. If your child is ready for something real, something fun, challenging, and full of growth, then the San Juan Futures Program is where it begins.
DOES THE FUTURES PROGRAM PLAY IN A LEAGUE?
Yes! The San Juan Futures have a league available to compete in.
IS THIS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS, OR JUST FOR ONE OR THE OTHER?
Yes, the Futures Program is designed for both girls and boys. It’s a co-ed environment where all players are welcomed, supported, and challenged at their level. We also have both male and female coaches on staff, which gives every player someone to relate to and learn from. Our focus is on creating a fun, inclusive space that builds confidence, skill, and a love for the game, no matter who you are.
